Newtown Borough Council voted earlier this week to hire a new full-time police officer.

Part-time officer Tiffany Winik will start full-time on July 1.

Winik, who most recently worked as a full-time Bucks County police officer, will bring a wealth of experience to her new role, Newtown Borough Police Chief James Sabath said.

Winik’s move to full-time comes after a two-year stint as a part-time officer in Newtown Borough. Before joining the county rangers, she was a member of the Bristol Township Police Department.

“They are sad to see her go as she was an excellent employee for them. But their loss is our gain,” Sabath said. “I’m sure he’ll do a really good job for us.”
