A Los Angeles County firefighter was reportedly killed Friday when a heavy truck exploded in Antelope Valley.

Authorities have not released the name of the firefighter or what caused the explosion that occurred early afternoon in the 6500 block of East Avenue in Littlerock.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department has held a press conference at 6 p.m. to discuss the “line-of-duty death of one of our firefighters,” according to a post on social media platform X.

Earlier this year, nine Los Angeles firefighters were injured when a compressed natural gas tank exploded while fighting a truck fire.
