Sixers guard Cameron Payne arrested in Arizona Friday morning – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Scottsdale police spokesman said Cameron Payne of the Philadelphia 76ers was arrested Friday in Arizona.

Scottsdale police were called to 68th Street and Chaparral Road just before 3 a.m. on a report of a disturbance, officials said.

According to the police, officers who arrived at the scene found two people. Authorities later identified one of them as Cameron Payne.

According to police, Payne was arrested for failing to disclose his real name to officers and filing a false report to law enforcement.

Officials said Sixer was taken to the Scottsdale City Jail and later released.

Payne was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in February after previously playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Payne has had an up-and-down NBA career.

He worked in the G League and the Chinese Basketball League before resuming his career in 2020, when he became a key player for the Phoenix Suns, helping them reach the 2021 NBA Finals.

NBC10 reached out to the Sixers for comment and has not yet heard back.
