Wareham firefighters discover 7-week-old French bulldog left in box on Atrail – New Bedford Guide

“On Monday, July 8, Wareham Natural Resources responded to Wareham Fire Department Station 1 for a report of a seven-week-old French bulldog puppy that was brought in after allegedly being found in a box on a wooded hiking trail near Station Street and Decas School.

Inside the box was a bag of ice wrapped in cloth, with notes on the lid detailing the dog’s health, age, spare wet food, and a note saying “please save her.” So with all that detail, we’re not sure how she ended up on a quiet hiking trail.

This sweet pup was thankfully out of any danger, especially in these hot and humid temperatures, but was immediately transported to a veterinary clinic where a thorough health check was performed. We will also be working on resolving the health issues over the next few days.

We are asking for the public’s help. If anyone has any information regarding this puppy and his previous owner, we would like to get to the bottom of this situation.

She is not available for adoption or foster care at this time. Thank you!” -Wareham Fire Department
