Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Tuesday informed that customers in selected areas of Karachi and Balochistan will face temporary gas supply disruption tomorrow (Wednesday) due to pipeline repair work.

As per the notification, the disruption will last from 9 am to 6 pm in the evening as the pipeline in Balochistan will have to be restored.

Gas supplies will be suspended in Airport Road, Jinnah Town, Shehbaz Town and PAF Base in the port city, while Kutch Nasiran, Chashma, Nawan Kali, Alamo Chowk, Kali Barat, Kali Ismail, Khizhi, A-One City, Bruri Road, Hazarganji, Baleli, Kali Khizan, Pishin, Kuchlak, Yaro and Ziarat are the regions of Balochistan where disruptions will occur, according to the gas company.

Earlier, similar incidents of gas supply disruptions took place in the areas of Karachi and Lahore. In June, there was a 12-hour gas supply disruption in the port city areas due to the installation of a new pipeline.

Moreover, gas supply cuts also occurred in areas of Lahore during the summer season. Citizens protested against low gas pressure in SSGC during cooking hours as the winter season saw a consistent pattern of low and no gas supply.

In addition, in early July, some miscreants blew up a 24-inch Sui gas pipeline in Mach, Katch. This caused an hour-long disruption in gas supply in the area before the company repaired the pipeline that was damaged in the explosion.
