Busy street closed after firefighters respond to Dayton recycling center fire

Early Wednesday morning, multiple firefighters responded to a fire at a recycling center in Dayton.

Dayton firefighters and officers were dispatched just after 4:30 a.m. to the scene on reports of a fire in the 1300 block of E. Monument Avenue, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch told News Center 7.

When our crews arrived on scene, the fire had already been extinguished.

Photos from the scene show firefighters removing what appeared to be burnt garbage from the facility.

Dayton police closed E. Monument Avenue while firefighters investigate the fire.
