3 shooting suspects arrested after police pursuit ends in Penn’s Landing

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Three suspects are in custody after a shooting led to a police chase in Philadelphia Tuesday night.

Police say the incident began around 8:30 p.m. when officers saw a man firing a gun from inside a white Dodge Charger in the 1800 block of Hart Lane.

There were two other suspects in the car at the time.

Officers noticed the vehicle was wanted in connection with another shooting.

Officers say as the suspects fled from police, they followed their vehicle to the River Rink in Penn’s Landing.

According to police, the suspects fled on foot.

Authorities say all three men were later detained and identified. Police have not yet released their identities.

Investigators say a firearm was found in the car.

A total of 20 shell casings were recovered from the scene on Hart Lane and the suspects fled and damaged four vehicles.

No injuries were reported following the shooting.

A witness reportedly told police that one of the suspects threw a gun into the river before he was captured.
