Motorcyclist (19) in hospital with ‘serious’ injuries after crash in Moray

A TEENAGE motorcyclist was taken to hospital with “serious” injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Moray.

The 19-year-old, who was riding a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer motorcycle, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident.

His motorcycle collided with a Vauxhall Crossland on the outskirts of Burghead, near Forest Park football ground, at 9.55pm on Tuesday, July 9.

Emergency services attended the scene and the teenager was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment. He was later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with injuries described as “serious”.

The occupants of the car were uninjured. The road was closed for about five hours to allow an investigation to take place. It reopened at about 3.30am.

Traffic police officers are appealing for information about the incident.

Detective Inspector Callum Hogg, of Elgin Road Police, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with any information that could be helpful to get in touch.

“In particular, we would like to speak to anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the crash, or who was in the area at the time and may have a dashcam which could assist in making contact.”
