Man arrested after pedestrian hit by car on Stenhouse Road in Edinburgh

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Edinburgh.

Officers closed Stenhouse Road between Stenhouse Drive and Stenhouse Cottages following the crash which happened at around 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The collision involved a passenger car and a pedestrian and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

The driver was arrested and police say an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Stenhouse Road is closed from Stenhouse Drive to Stenhouse Cottages following a collision at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 9th July involving a car and a pedestrian.

Road users are advised to avoid the area.

“The man, the driver, was arrested and an investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
