CHICO — Superior Court Judge Stephen Bensen ruled Monday that the city of Chico will have to release public records requested by Scott Rushing, marking a victory for Rushing in a larger, ongoing case against the city and its police department.

Rushing served a court order seeking to obtain from the city a document described in Bensen’s ruling as a PowerPoint presentation, court documents show.

The application was granted in its entirety and the disputed document was deemed to be subject to the Access to Public Records Act.

In addition, the City must provide the requested document without any corrections within 60 days of receiving notice of the order.
