Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain play flawless suburban wives who endure hardships and make plans in the trailer for “The Road Home.” Mother’s instincta costume drama set in the 1960s, directed and shot by experienced cinematographer Benoît Delhomme.

Chastain and Hathaway play Alice and Celine, respectively — two 1960s housewives, best friends and neighbors — who live a seemingly idyllic, traditional lifestyle with manicured lawns, successful husbands and same-aged sons. But a tragic accident, in which one of their sons accidentally falls from a second-story window as Alice helplessly watches, shatters the perfect harmony of their lives, and the best friends are suddenly torn apart as guilt, suspicion and paranoia creep into each other.
