Lafayette Man Arrested for Stealing $500K from Sick Person

SAINT LANDRY PARISH, Louisiana (KLFY) – A Lafayette man was arrested after he allegedly took advantage of a sick person by stealing more than $500,000.

According to St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s OfficeGregory T. Red, 62, of Lafayette, was arrested on charges of exploitation of the sick, mortgage fraud, credit card fraud by a person authorized to provide goods and services and theft over $500,000.

Before Red’s arrest, the Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest.

KLFY is investigating the matter and will provide further information as soon as it becomes available.
