Police and firefighters were called to Youngstown’s Southside where flames were shooting out of a home Tuesday morning.

Emergency responders were told a two-story home on Neilson Avenue between Kent and Pointview Avenues was on fire just after 6:30 a.m.

FirstEnergy was called to the scene because power lines had fallen from the home.

Investigators say the only person living in the home was not injured.

Firefighters deemed the house uninhabitable and called in a crew to board up the windows and doors.

21 News is working to determine the cause of the fire.
