Former Arizona Cardinals football star and current NFL executive Adrian Wilson was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, on three counts of domestic violence, the Scottsdale Police Department announced.

According to police records, the 44-year-old was charged with intentionally causing bodily harm, criminal damage to property valued at $250 to $2,000 and disorderly conduct, which is disorderly conduct or fighting.

Although records did not provide an arrest date, Wilson posted bail on June 1.

Wilson will return to court on July 16 to participate in a virtual case management conference.

A former safety, Wilson played in the NFL for 13 years. Wilson played for the Cardinals for 12 seasons after being drafted in the third round in 2001. After being released in 2013, he joined the New England Patriots the following season.

Wilson joined the Chicago Bears training camp in 2014 but was released before the start of the season.

After retiring from professional football, Wilson joined the Cardinals front office as a regional scout in 2015. He was then promoted to director of professional scouting in 2019 and became vice president of professional scouting in 2021.

In search of a bigger role, Wilson applied to become the New York Giants’ general manager in 2022 and was linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ general manager vacancy, but did not receive offers for either position.

Remaining in the Grand Canyon State, Wilson was named interim general manager of the Cardinals at the end of the 2022 season after Steve Keim took a leave of absence for health reasons.

Wilson played in the NFL for 13 years, including 12 seasons with the Cardinals, before taking on management positions at Arizona and Carolina.
Wilson applied for several CEO positions but was unsuccessful in securing any of them.

Wilson then applied for the Cardinal general manager position in early 2023 but failed to earn the promotion.

He left the Cardinals in February 2023 to become vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers, a position he left just 18 months after arriving.

“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his role as vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesman said, according to ESPN. “In accordance with our organizational policy, we will not be providing any further comment regarding personnel matters.”
