Yonkers Police Officer Bracken and His Partner Socko Retire

PO Brian Bracken is retiring after 17 years of service with the Yonkers Police Department, having joined us in 2006 after several years with the NYPD. PO Bracken is a Yonkers native who served with the 3rd Precinct and our Emergency Service Unit before joining our K9 Unit. He is a highly decorated officer and has received numerous awards throughout his career with our agency.

His partner, K9 Socko, is retiring with him. K9 Socko joined the Yonkers Police Department in February 2016 after being donated by the Generoso Pope Foundation in memory of fallen Yonkers Police Detective Frank Fernandez. K9 Socko is trained in both patrol and narcotics detection and has conducted hundreds of demonstrations for schools and youth groups over his eight-year career.
