Bostic was reported missing in Macon County on June 29. Her remains were found July 3 when a Tennessee Department of Transportation contractor was picking up trash along a road in Hendersonville.

Her body was found about an hour’s drive from where she was reported missing.

Three days later, authorities arrested an unidentified 17-year-old from Westmoreland. He was charged with first-degree murder. Friends of Bostic told Scripps News Nashville they believe the suspect is an ex-boyfriend.

In a press release, Hendersonville police said: “To maintain the integrity of the investigation, no further details regarding this incident will be released at this time.”

Bostic’s classmates started a GoFundMe to help her family. As of July 10, they had raised more than $13,000.
