Son tells mom he’ll “smash her face” for not going to bed

A man accused of telling his mother he would “smash her face” was given a free trip to Florence after punishing her for staying up late on Friday night, police said.

Police arrested 19-year-old Isaac X. Kachinski on two counts of domestic violence: assault and disorderly conduct, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by InMaricopa.

Kachinski’s mother called 9-1-1 and told dispatchers her son had sprained his thumb at their Sorrento home on West Bello Lane.

The woman said she was reading a book in the living room when Kachinski told her to go to bed, the report said. The mother said she was about to finish reading a chapter of her book when Kachinski threatened to kick her in the face if she didn’t go to bed right away.

Kachinski reportedly tried to kick his mother twice in the face, but she blocked the blows with her hand, resulting in a dislocated thumb.

Police noted that they did not see the dislocated thumb because the woman testified that she had set it before officers arrived.

Kachinski admitted to kicking his mother in the thumb after telling her he would “smash her face in” during an argument about her health, according to the report.

Kachinski was booked into the Pinal County Jail. He faces up to a year behind bars.
