Springfield man charged with alleged sexual abuse of 4-year-old

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man has been charged with sodomy after allegedly sexually abusing a 4-year-old child.

Online court documents show 64-year-old Bryan Earnest McGee has been charged with two counts of sodomy and one count of sexual assault of a child under 15.

Documents show the victim reported the abuse occurred between 2015 and 2017, when she was between four and six years old.

A Springfield Police Department (SPD) probable cause statement states that the victim told investigators that McGee had been abusing her while others were out and about.

The documents also say the victim told police that McGee repeatedly ordered her to watch pornography with him, including once when McGee asked her to “do something that (she) saw on one of the videos.”

In an interview with The Guardian, McGee said probable cause for the crime was that he denied the victim’s accusations and refused to take a polygraph test. He did, however, admit to sexually assaulting two victims in Oklahoma in 1990.

Documents indicate the Oklahoma victims were girls between the ages of three and six. In an SPD interview with McGee, documents say he admitted to viewing pornography with those victims while others were out.

McGee is currently being held in the Greene County Jail on $100,000 bail.
