18-year-old dies in motorcycle crash in Englewood, New Jersey

An 18-year-old woman died in an accident involving a motorcycle and a car on Tuesday evening, authorities said.

The Englewood Police Department said it responded to a car crash around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Palisade Avenue and Dana Place.

Police say a motorcycle driven by an 18-year-old man from Haverstraw, New York, with an 18-year-old passenger from Stony Brook, New York, was traveling east on East Palisade Ave. approaching the intersection at Dana Place. A car driven by a 52-year-old woman from Englewood was traveling west on East Palisade Ave. approaching the same intersection.

Police said in a statement that the car was turning left to head south on Dana Place when it struck a motorcycle that was traveling straight down the street.

Authorities said both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected from the vehicle and both were taken to Hackensack Hospital with serious injuries.

A female passenger died from her injuries shortly afterward, police said. The motorcycle driver was reportedly in stable condition, and the car driver was not injured.
