How does a teacher’s experience affect student absenteeism?

Heena Kuwayama, a research intern at the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, is currently a graduate student in education policy at Johns Hopkins University. Originally from Illinois, she has a bachelor’s degree in statistics and psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Heena spent three years teaching math in grades 3–5 at a New Orleans charter school before pursuing graduate studies.
