Naked man arrested near Southern California train station, charged with sexual assault

A convicted sex offender was arrested in San Bernardino County on Tuesday after police say he went completely nude in public and sexually assaulted a woman on a public transit train.

Upland police responded to the area of ​​9th Street and 2nd Avenue around 6 p.m. for reports of a naked man near the Metrolink station and Cooper Regional History Museum. The police department posted on social media,

Officers quickly located and detained the man, wrapping a towel around his waist, photos show.

“While speaking with the male, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy pulled up and said they were looking for a person who had committed a sexual assault on a Metrolink train,” police said.

Details of the attack on Metrolink are not currently available.

The suspect was turned over to officers and charged with several counts. Police said he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Los Angeles County for a probation violation related to a prior sexual assault.
