Update on serious pedestrian crash in Maddington

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to seek information following a serious crash in Maddington on Monday 8 July 2024.

At approximately 7:35 p.m., a dark-colored Mazda Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) traveling north on Albany Highway struck a pedestrian near a 7 Eleven gas station. The 38-year-old pedestrian sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV initially stopped to check on the injured pedestrian before returning to his vehicle and driving away from the scene.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are asking the driver of the Mazda SUV to come forward and assist with the investigation.
