5-year-old dies after being left in vehicle in Omaha


LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police say a child died Wednesday after being left in a vehicle for hours in Omaha.

According to KMTV, the Omaha Police Department responded to a call at 93rd Street and Binney Street just after 5 p.m.

Police said a 5-year-old child who was in foster care was abandoned there in an SUV.

The child received cardiopulmonary resuscitation before being transported to Omaha Children’s Hospital, where he died.

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
