Update on 10-year-old boy who almost drowned in his hotel pool on the Costa del Sol, Spain

A YOUNG boy who almost drowned in a Manilva hotel is “recovering favorably”.

The 10-year-old was staying at the Pierre et Vacances resort on Avenida Sierra Morena when an incident occurred on Saturday.

Details are scarce, but according to the 112 emergency service, a call was made around 3:15 p.m. to alert them of a boy “exhibiting symptoms of drowning.”

A doctor at the complex performed CPR on the child while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

He was flown to the Maternal and Child Hospital in Malaga, where he is currently, but he appears to be “recovering favorably”, according to doctors cited by El Español.

The incident happened the same day a 32-year-old man died in Malaga after jumping from a rock face and onto other rocks below.

The unidentified victim was pulled to shore around 7 p.m., but nothing could be done to resuscitate him.
