Louisiana firefighter honored for saving a child’s life

A Luling firefighter was honored by the Ochsner St. Parish Hospital Emergency Medical Services Department. Charles for saving the child’s life. On Monday, the hospital recognized Andre’ Poteet for the heroic actions he took while responding to a medical call involving a child. The hospital said Poteet’s decision to place a tourniquet on the baby’s leg ultimately helped save the baby’s life. Poteet received a letter of commendation for his life-saving actions. The letter reads in part: “In times of crisis, people like Andre make a huge difference. His ability to remain calm under pressure and perform such a vital procedure undoubtedly played a role in saving the child’s life. actions transcend the immediate situation, resonating with the family, our team and the wider community.” The Luling Fire Department shared the entire letter, as well as a heartfelt message for Poteet, on the department’s Facebook page.
