Tuchel reportedly held detailed talks with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco last week. However, the same report suggests that Tuchel now wants to take a break from the sport and is considering a year-long break from the game.

Former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel will not join Manchester United’s camp despite talks with the club’s new investor, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to reports.

The Red Devils want to breathe fresh life into team management from next season. In this situation, Tuchel has become one of the main candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford as manager if the Dutchman is removed from his position.

Now a report from The Telegraph has emerged which claims that the former Bayern Munich manager will not be moving to Old Trafford in the upcoming season. The report reads: “Thomas Tuchel has decided not to become Manchester United’s new head coach should the club decide to sack Erik ten Hag.”

Tuchel reportedly held detailed talks with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco last week. The development of their talks would result in Manchester United making a decision regarding Erik ten Hag’s future at the club. However, the same report suggests that Tuchel now wants to take a break from the sport. The German manager is currently considering a year-long break from the game.

Talking about the season, Tuchel had a memorable 2023/24 season at Bayern Munich. Despite signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, Tuchel was unable to lead the Bavarian giants to a trophy. Xabi Alonso’s coach Bayer Leverkusen enjoyed an undefeated season in the Bundesliga, defeating Bayern for the league title.

In the Champions League, Bayern Munich failed to defeat eventual winners Real Madrid. Tuchel’s successor at Bayern Munich was Vincent Kompany, an icon of Manchester City.

Tuchel has previously expressed his desire to return to the Premier League at any time in the future. – It’s no secret that I really liked Chelsea, I liked England and I certainly liked the Premier League. It was a very, very special time in England and I remember it well,” Tuchel said.

Coming back to Erik ten Haga, the Dutchman recently led Manchester United to victory in the FA Cup against Manchester City. Under Ten Hag Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League last season.
