46 man arrested and charged in connection with the death of a woman in West Lothian.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a woman in West Lothian.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Cunnighar Road Broxburn at around 7.55pm on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Emergency services attended and the 42-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, where she later died.

The 46-year-old man is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 11.

Chief Superintendent Craig Higgins said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died and we will do everything we can to support them at this very difficult time.

“I would like to thank the local community for their help and patience throughout the investigation. There will still be a police presence in the area, but I want to assure everyone that this is an isolated incident and there is no major threat to the public.

“However, anyone with concerns can speak to officers.”
