Two suspects arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Pickens Dollar General

The Pickens Police Department said two men are in custody for allegedly robbing the Dollar General on Highway 51. Chief Joe Davis said the armed robbery occurred around 8:20 a.m. Monday. Davis said two men dressed in black and armed with AR-style glasses robbed the store at gunpoint before running into a wooded area behind the store. Davis said his department sought assistance from several agencies and was able to locate two suspects: Marshall Howard and Ivyon Anderson. Davis said Howard and Anderson were found hours after an armed robbery that occurred in Yazoo County with K9 Drago. Authorities said Drago alerted law enforcement to the men’s whereabouts in a wooded area near Gas Plant Road. Authorities said both suspects were still armed and also had a large amount of cash. According to Davis, one of the confiscated weapons was modified to include a switch that made it fully automatic. Davis said the men were arrested with the assistance of the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Attala County Sheriff’s Office and Yazoo City Police.
