Dr. Tony Evans, a well -known Evangelical pastor in Texas, gave way to the management position in his church.
In a statement published on Sunday on the website of the Evans church, senior pastor Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas in Texas, said he was giving way to the position because of the unnamed “sin”.
“The basis of our ministry has always been our devotion to God as the absolute highest standard of truth, to which we are to adapt our lives,” we read in Evans’s statement. “When we do not meet this standard due to sin, we are obliged to repent and renew our relationship with God. A few years ago I was not able to meet this standard. That is why I am obliged to use the same biblical standard of penance and renewal myself that I applied to others. “
Evans said that “he did not commit any crime”, but “he was not guided by a fair judgment in his deeds.”
According to the Church, Evans’s decision to give up was taken after “huge prayer and multiple meetings” with Evans and the older Church.

Evans founded the Biblical Community Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas in 1976, with 10 members in his home. Since then, the church has grown to over 10,000 members.
He runs the radio program “The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans ”, which is broadcast in over 1000 stations around the world, and earlier was a chaplain of both Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.
Tony Evans’s first wife was Lois Evans, who died in 2019. The couple had four children. He is currently married to Carla Evans, formerly Carlie Crummi. They married in December 2023.
