A man escaped with “serious” facial injuries after an attack in Belfast

Five were arrested

A man was attacked at a flat in east Belfast with “serious” facial injuries.

Five people were arrested after the robbery, which took place on Upper Frank Street just after 8 p.m. on Monday.

Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: “At around 8.10pm it was reported that a 37-year-old man had been attacked at a flat in the area. The man was taken to hospital with facial injuries, which are currently described as serious.”

Four men, aged 55, 43, 40 and 40, and a 38-year-old woman were detained in connection with the incident.

All five people are currently in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Faulkner continued: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and detectives are appealing to anyone with any information about the incident to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1779 10/06/24.
