Man accused of injuring 8-year-old boy in Summit Township – Butler Eagle

A Butler man has been accused of hitting and seriously injuring an 8-year-old boy in Summit Township, according to state police.

Dustin A. Kepple, 29, was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment and simple assault and summary harassment after police said they responded to a report of the assault on May 20 .

Police said Kepple threw the boy onto the floor of a vehicle, drugged him at a home on Moran Road in Summit Township and then punched him.

The boy was injured in his right cheek, left eye and left ear, police said.

Officers determined the boy’s injuries matched his statement and that of another witness.

Kepple’s preliminary hearing will be held July 16.
