The Tottenham midfielder is not a serious option for the club

Tottenham Hotspur appear unable to clear Ange Postecoglou’s squad by transferring midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to his former team Real Betis this summer.

The Argentine midfielder has one year left on his contract at Tottenham and the club is open to offers for him.

He was a bit of a Spurs and Postecoglou player last season he indicated he could leave if he wanted to play more minutes.

The real Betis were strongly linked to the interest in acquiring Lo Celsoa player they know well this summer.

However, according to a Spanish outlet Be a soccer ballBetis is not considering re-signing their former player before the summer transfer window.

Betis asked about him and is still a fan, but he is too expensive for the Spaniards.

Lo Celso is not a player that the Spanish club will be considering as a serious option this summer.

The midfielder would have to be available at zero cost and at a steep pay cut to even become a viable target.

In doing so, it closes off a potential route that Lo Celso could have taken to leave Tottenham and secure more playing time.

It is unclear whether he will have other options in the coming months.
