We will meet the newest employee of the district attorney’s office – a dog – on Friday – BG Independent News

Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson announced today that he will hold a news conference on Friday, June 14, at 9 a.m. in the atrium of the Wood County Courthouse to introduce the office’s newest employee.

Norene will be the first dog used in a courthouse in Wood County and one of the first in northwest Ohio. Norene is a two-year-old Labrador Retriever who has been specially trained to work with crime victims both in the office and in the courtroom.

In addition to Norene and staff from the Wood County Attorney’s Office, Coach Norene and staff from the Greater Toledo Skills Center will be present at the conference. Additionally, Norene will be replaced by Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn during this time.
