Rihanna shuts down pregnancy rumors amid speculation

Rihanna put an end to speculation that she is pregnant.

Amid recent rumors that she may be expecting her third child, the 36-year-old is explaining the size of her family. Rihanna, who shares two sons RZA and 10-month-old Riot with A$AP Rocky, spoke with Entertainment tonight On June 10, during the Rihanna x Fenty Hair launch party, where she was asked about her dreams of becoming a “girl mom.”

The “Diamonds” singer referred to a previous comment she made during a meeting with Interview in April. In an interview with Mel Ottenberg, when asked how many more children she wanted, Rihanna said she was “trying for my girl.”

“See how it turned out,” said the star Entertainment tonight. Rihanna was then asked if she wanted to have more children, hopefully a daughter, since she’s still not a “girl mom.”

– You know what, I hope so. Yes,” the Grammy winner admitted, before adding, “I’m not pregnant, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Fans began speculating that Rihanna might be pregnant when she left the 2024 Met Gala at the last minute after coming down with the flu. She was recently spotted in New York wearing a T-shirt that read “I’m Retired” and holding a green bag in front of her stomach.

Rihanna was thinking about motherhood even before she gave birth to her two sons. Elsewhere in an April interview with Ottenberg, the “Work” actress revealed that she’s not surprised by how her life has turned out in terms of having children. In fact, Rihanna always knew that one day she would become a mother.

“The only thing I knew I wanted or could imagine was motherhood. I didn’t know how it would happen, but it’s been the best part of my journey so far. Everything else was a surprise,” Ottenberg said.

Rihanna also opened up about her relationship with A$AP, lovingly admitting that she knew from the beginning of their romance that he was worthy of being the father of her children.

She confessed: “In my previous relationships, I tried and tried and tried as hard as I could, and you still feel like it’s not enough.”

“So when someone sees you completely, believes in you and thinks you are worthy of being the mother of his children, it’s a great feeling. I felt the same way about him. I knew he would be a great dad,” Rihanna continued.

The two music icons officially started dating in late 2019. When Covid hit, Rihanna and A$AP spent much more time together, growing their relationship more than they would have without the quarantine.

“Covid accelerated our relationship and I felt like God knew we needed it because we were going to start a family. And if it weren’t for Covid, it would have taken us a lot longer to get acclimated to each other and even know that we were ready,” the “Umbrella” singer noted.
