Before performing at WWE NXT Battleground last Sunday, rapper Sexy Red was involved in an airport brawl that resulted in her arrest.

According to TMZ, Red was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with – according to police – involvement in a fight that broke out between the people she was with and another group at Newark Liberty International Airport. The surveillance footage shows him holding the rack lying on the ground:

Port authorities told TMZ that Red was arrested on disorderly conduct charges and others were charged with assault. The alleged victims were taken to hospital for observation for minor injuries.

Red apparently addressed the situation on social media, as TMZ noted that she wrote that she “just left” and later offered to exchange phones with people she got into an “argument” with at the airport.

After declaring her WWE fandom on social media, Red made her first appearance on the May 28 episode of WWE NXT. The company liked having her so much that they were named host of the NXT Battleground premium live event.

Red appeared multiple segments throughout Sunday’s performance. She congratulated newly crowned NXT North American Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan and danced with Lola Vice after her victory over Shayna Baszler. She celebrated with NXT Champion Trick Williams following his main event victory over Ethan Page, and also appeared backstage with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace.

It’s unclear whether Red’s arrest will have any impact on future WWE appearances, but it’s clear that the company was pleased to have her around.
