Ask any student about ATU funding

Dr. Bryan Student Services Center

Arkansas Tech University has been awarded a $3,500 Ask Every Student Implementation Grant for the Fall 2024 semester.

The funds will provide employment opportunities for ATU students who wish to serve as student voter advocates. Those elected to these positions will encourage students to register to vote and vote in the November 2024 elections.

The grant application was written and submitted by Megan Bell, ATU Coordinator for Civic and Community Engagement and Leadership Development in the ATU Department of Campus Life.

Students interested in participating in Ask Every Student can email [email protected].

According to the website of the nonpartisan Ask Every Student program, it is based on the premise that “full student voting participation comes down to giving each student at least three minutes of individual focus to talk about voter engagement and, if eligible, register them to vote.”

Arkansas Tech has partnered with Ask Every Student since 2020. That’s when Arkansas Tech became the only institution in Arkansas and one of only 31 universities in the country to be selected as an Ask Every Student co-design campus.

Other institutions that identified Ask Every Student co-design campuses in 2020 include Harvard University, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Texas at Austin.
