A woman will be charged with stealing a PlayStation in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Missouri woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly stole two PS5 consoles in Paragould.

On June 8, 2024, the Paragould Police Department responded to Walmart in reference to a theft incident. Officers arrived at the scene and were shown a video showing the suspect and a man taking two PlayStation 5 consoles from a suitcase.

A probable cause affidavit says the two attempted to leave the store without paying for themselves or other merchandise valued at more than $1,000.

Theft of property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $5,000 is a Class D felony in Arkansas.

Perla Valdez, 42, of Senath, Missouri, was arrested for theft of property. She was transported to the Greene County Jail. On Monday, Judge Dan Stidham set her bail at $10,000 cash or surety, and the defendant was ordered not to contact any Walmart store.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty by a final court judgment.

Note: The PC statement mentioned the man, but no statement has been released about him to date.
