LG UltraGear 48GP900 48″ 4K (3840×2160) OLED gaming monitor

The 48GP900-B features a WOLED panel, which is very similar to the one found on the 48-inch LG C1 OLED TV, but with a few key differences. Instead of the semi-glossy coating found on TVs, the 48GP900 has a matte anti-reflective coating – this is a better option when using a desktop monitor up close as it is much less reflective. The 48GP900 also has a DisplayPort connector and does not have a built-in Smart TV interface. Supports HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K@120Hz compatibility for PS5 and Xbox series. X owners, as well as VRR and G-SYNC support. Additionally, the 120Hz refresh rate can be overclocked to 138Hz when used as a computer monitor. There are also some other convenient features that you generally find on LG gaming monitors, like an FPS counter and a built-in crosshair. Finally, if aesthetics are important to you, there’s subtle RGB lighting on the back of the monitor that’s absent from OLED TVs.

Why choose an OLED gaming monitor?

When it comes to high-end gaming monitors, there are many options to choose from. But one thing is for sure, you can’t go wrong with OLED. OLED displays blow away any IPS, VA, TN monitor in terms of raw image quality. They have the best contrast ratio and dynamic range thanks to almost infinite black levels and the ability to turn individual LEDs on and off. They also have a near-instant response time, so the ghosting effect is a thing of the past. The biggest disadvantage of OLED monitors is their high price. However, at its current price, the LG 48GP900-B is cheaper than similarly sized traditional LCD gaming monitors.
