13-year-old arrested after fatal stabbing – Mississippi’s best community newspaper

FAYETTE – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 13-year-old boy after his mother’s boyfriend was stabbed to death Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Jefferson County Sheriff James Bailey said officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Green Acres Drive just outside Fayette shortly after midnight Sunday.

When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Phillip Queen of Fayette dead with several stab wounds.

Further investigation led to the arrest of 13-year-old Christopher Bonds Jr., also of Fayette, who was held in the Juvenile Detention Center until his first court appearance on Monday. After Bonds was charged with murder as an adult, Bailey said, adding that he did not receive bond.

Bailey said no further information could be released because the investigation is still ongoing.
